This four-week workshop is a great way for parent and baby to bond through touch and education.
Reflexology is an ancient therapy originating in Egypt and China. It works on the principle that the feet mirror the body and have reflex points that correspond with every part of the body. By applying pressure to the reflex points, the corresponding parts of the body are stimulated through improved blood and nerve supply.
You likely already know how sensitive your baby is to touch. Babies often respond very quickly to reflexology or gentle pressure application on specific points on their feet.
This class will add some tools to your toolkit to help you assist your baby (and the rest of your family!) through common things like colic, constipation, coughs and colds, teething, and with helping your baby get to sleep. Reflexology is safe and effective, and can also help you deepen your bond with your baby.
Each class will cover a slightly different topic.
Class one: Intro to Reflexology
Learn what reflexology is, how it works, and how it can help you and your baby. We will cover five techniques that you can use every day to help boost your baby’s immune system, assist with nervous system regulation, and balance other bodily systems too.
Class two: Reflexology for sleep and calm
This class will cover reflexology techniques to help calm your baby down, relax your baby and prepare your baby for sleep.
Class three: Reflexology for Digestion
Reflexology can be remarkably useful for colic, gas, constipation and reflux. Learn the techniques to assist with those and more!
Class four: Reflexology for coughs/colds, allergies and teething
Reflexology may be used as an adjunct for treating your baby’s minor illnesses. Learn the techniques to assist with coughs, colds, sinus infections, allergies, teething and earaches.
